Improv Bible is published by Appventura (SAS), the data controller. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can: the platform works without an account, and everything you add is yours to delete.
What we collect
Without an account: nothing that identifies you. You can browse the games, the map, the generator and the timer without giving us anything.
With an account: your email address, a password (never stored in clear — it is hashed by our provider), and a display name.
What you choose to add: city, country, and — only if you click the button — your approximate coordinates; a bio, your improv languages, your social links, a photo. All of this is optional, and your profile is private by default.
What you create: favourites, ratings and reviews, courses and classes, shows, groups, wall posts and comments, video links and suggestions you propose.
Why, and on what legal basis
To run the service (your account, your courses, your groups): performance of the contract between you and us.
Location and public profile: your consent. You tick the box, you can untick it.
Newsletter about improv events near you: your consent, given when you tick the box. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Moderation and security (fighting spam and abuse): our legitimate interest in keeping the community usable.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data and we do not run advertising trackers. We use these providers to run the service:
Supabase — database and authentication (hosting, EU region). Vercel — hosting of the site itself. OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — when you type a city name, that text is sent to them to find its coordinates. Amazon — our book links are affiliate links; if you click one, Amazon knows you came from us and we may earn a commission (which costs you nothing).
What is public, and what is not
Your profile is private by default. Made public, it shows what you chose: display name, city, languages, bio, links, and your reviews. Your email is never public.
What you post on a group's wall is visible to anyone who can see that group. A show you publish appears on the world map. A course is private unless you share it.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Delete your account and everything goes with it — profile, courses, shows, favourites, posts — in one click, from your account page. Nothing is kept in a shadow copy.
Content you contributed to the commons (a suggestion approved for everyone, a video link on a game sheet) may remain, but detached from your name.
Your rights
You can access, correct, delete, export or object to the processing of your data, and withdraw your consent at any time. Most of it you can do yourself from your account page. For anything else, write to us and we will answer within a month.
Contact: improvbible@gmail.com. If you think we got it wrong, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Cookies
We only use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party tracking — which is why you are not being asked to accept anything. If that ever changes, we will ask first.
Children
An account requires you to be at least 15 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country). Improv is played at every age, but a child does not need an account to read the games.
