Improv Questions Only
Players may speak only in questions. Make a statement, hesitate too long, repeat a question, or ask a non-sequitur, and you're buzzed out and replaced by the next player. The aim is not a tennis rally of nonsense but a real scene that happens to be built entirely of questions. Under the rule sits a genuine skill: questions that advance a scene rather than stall it. "Why are you holding my father's watch?" carries story — "How are you?" doesn't. It trains players to ask with intention and status, which sharpens their offers even in ordinary scenes.
🎓 Tips
Reward questions that reveal, not questions that deflect. "Isn't that my husband's coat?" builds a scene — coach for story-carrying questions. Buzz cleanly and quickly, without cruelty. The elimination is a rhythm tool, not a judgement — keep the tone playful. Remind players that emotion and status still apply. A jealous question and a frightened question are different scenes.
